Pokémon GO: Second wave of the Pokemon GO madness after years

Pokémon GO is a free smartphone game that allows you to catch Pokémon in an augmented version of the real world. Using your smartphone’s GPS system and the pre-installed map in the game, you are able to walk around the streets and catch Pokémon as they spring up. There are Pokestops where you may collect free items, and you may stop at Pokémon gyms to battle with other players.

Pokémon GO:Gotta Catch Em All… again

Pokémon GO uses your GPS, mapping technology, and your phone’s camera to alter the real world as you see it through your smartphone. If you thought this 90’s craze was over, you are mistaken. The aim of the game is to catch all of the Pokémon GO creatures. There is no time limit, and there are no consequences if you do not catch them. If your aim is to hunt down and collect the monsters, then the worst thing that can happen is that one of them escapes the fate of living in your Poke Ball. The game is based on insect collecting, except that you are collecting pocket monsters. There are 151 types of pocket monsters to collect, and you can check your smartphone where the nearest Pokémon are. Run over to where you see a Pokémon and hurl a Poke Ball in its direction, and with a little luck, you will catch your very own creature.

An augmented reality game for kids

Despite the number of adults who play the game, it is still a game for kids and was created to help children notice the world around them (even if it is through an augmented reality vis-à-vis their phone). The graphics are hundreds of times better than the original games that were released on the Gameboy 20 years ago, but the graphics are not perfect or impressive. The creatures are still broadly drawn, and even the human characters are still bland and only marginally more detailed than the characters in the animated series. At first glance, you will be unimpressed with the graphics, especially if you have a modern PC or game console. However, once you start playing the game, the less-than-impressive graphics will not bother you. Seeing the Pokémon in the real world (via your smartphone screen) is rather exciting, and is unlike anything that has come before it. When playing the game, it uses a lot of data and battery power, so make sure you have a suitable data plan before you move outside of your home Wi-Fi range.

Warning - some adults are using the app to prey on young children because it has them congregate in certain areas to collect Pokémon GO creatures. Also, do not venture into dangerous neighborhoods in search of creatures, which include approaching dangerous situations because a Pokémon has appeared. Do not play it while driving

Immersive and interactive game

The unique aspect of Pokémon GO that provides immense gratification for players is the fact that it gives them first-hand experience of becoming a Pokémon master. The excitement does not conclude with the catching of Pokémon from various locations. It also includes the satisfaction of training and nurturing them to ensure their optimal growth, soon leading to their eventual evolution. The game carries on to its climax as players interact with other Pokémon trainers for thrilling gym battles and raids.

In gym battles, you must defeat the Pokémon at the gym to gain control of the area and replace it with one of your own Pokémon. On the other hand, raids are collaborative activities where a team of up to 20 players can challenge a formidable Pokémon. After vanquishing the raid boss, all team members will have the chance to capture and add it to their arsenals. Raids are a great way to catch rare and powerful Pokémon that are often unavailable through other means.

Thrilling crossover developments

Trainers can anticipate exciting additions as Pokémon GO traverses the storyline of Nintendo's Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Most notably, they can begin capturing the rare and enigmatic Roaming Form Gimmighoul. This ghost-type Pokemon alternates between its regular chest-bearing appearance and diminutive wandering form. It hides in the Paldea region and is said to be too elusive for any trainer to catch it, as it runs away as soon as a person approaches.

To summon the Roaming Form Gimmighoul, players must first link their Pokémon GO account with either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet and then send a postcard. They will then be given the opportunity to use the Coin Bag, which will allow the Roaming Form Gimmighoul to appear in the surrounding area for a brief time. Consequently, players will be rewarded with a Gimmighoul Coin upon capturing the Roaming Form Gimmighoul. Keep in mind that the Coin Bag can only be utilized once a day.

Additionally, a recurring connection between your Pokémon GO account and Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet will grant you the Golden Lure Module. This innovative tool allows trainers to spin the Photo Disc of Golden PokéStops and yields a greater amount of Gimmighoul Coins. If a trainer is able to collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins, he can evolve the Roaming Form Gimmighoul into Gholdengo, the Coin Entity Pokémon.

What is the minimum Android version for Pokémon GO?

For Pokémon GO to work well on your Android device, it needs to meet certain criteria:

  • Made for Smartphones: Pokémon GO is designed to be played on smartphones, not on tablets. So, if you have a smartphone, you're good to go!
  • Check Your Android Version: Make sure your device has at least 2GB of RAM and is running on Android Version 6.0–10.0+. This helps the game run smoothly and ensures you get the best experience.
  • Need GPS: Your device must have GPS capabilities. This is crucial for the game to know where you are in the real world, making your Pokémon hunting adventures more exciting.
  • Wi-Fi Can be Tricky: If your device relies only on Wi-Fi and doesn't have a mobile network, Pokémon GO might not work as well. It's recommended to play when connected to a mobile network for the best experience.
  • Check Compatibility: Even if your device meets the operating system (OS) requirements, there's a chance it might not run Pokémon GO perfectly. It's a good idea to check if your device is fully compatible.
  • Stay Connected: Playing while connected to a network is a smart move. This ensures the game gets accurate location information, making your Pokémon encounters more realistic and enjoyable.

What does 100% Pokémon mean in Pokemon Go?

In the game, you can check your Pokémon's Individual Values (IVs) by going to its screen and selecting "Appraise." Your team leader will then give you insights into your Pokémon's stats. A Pokémon with 100% IV means it has perfect Attack, Defense, and Stamina, all scored at the highest value of 15. This is like having a Pokémon superstar. IVs below 100% represent a percentage of the maximum possible stat of 45. For example, if your Gengar has 10 Attack, 10 Defense, and 12 Stamina, its IV is 71%, which is pretty good. Your team leader uses stars and colors to show how good your Pokémon is. Three stars with a red stamp mean it's a perfect 100% Pokémon. Different combinations of stars and colors indicate various levels of perfection. The stat bar is like a graph showing your Pokémon's strengths. Each tick represents five stat points. It's an easy way to see how powerful your Pokémon is.

Can a 10 year old play Pokémon Go?

Wondering if your 10-year-old can join the Pokémon GO fun? Let's break it down:

  • Age Requirement: Pokémon GO has a rule that says you need to be at least 13 years old to create your own account. However, if you're younger than 13, don't worry – there's a way for you to play!
  • Parental Help: If you're under 13, your parent can step in to set up an account for you. They can use their Google email address or create a Pokemon Trainer account. Both options have a 13-year-old age requirement, but since your parent is helping, it's all good!

So, the short answer is yes – with a bit of parent assistance, a 10-year-old can certainly embark on the Pokémon GO adventure!

Pokémon Horizons: The Series festivities

Exciting times are ahead for Pokémon GO enthusiasts with the Pokémon Horizons: The Series launch. Gear up to snag a dapper Pikachu, sporting a signature Cap's hat — you might even catch a shiny one — as you dive into this immersive event. It's also complete with its Volt Tackle move. The game also adds Paldea's Charcadet, which offers an engaging evolution system involving battles to become either Armarouge or Ceruledge.

This event is not just a celebration for die-hard fans but also a bounty for those chasing extra experience points, offering double XP rewards for egg-hatching endeavors. The surge in Team GO Rocket balloon assaults will surely test your mettle. Keep an eye out for Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly playfully hiding in the wild, and don't miss the chance to encounter the rare Alolan Grimer and Beldum.

Raids are ramping up too, with the special Pikachu and a variety of adversaries ready for battle, providing opportunities for both exciting gameplay and enhancing your collection. Whether you're keen on witnessing new evolutions or beefing up your Pokémon lineup, this event is a homage to the sprawling Pokémon universe, inviting enthusiasts and gamers alike to share in the new animation series' fervor.

Collecting Pokémon is oddly satisfying

One could complain about how dangerous the app is becoming, or how the Niantic company is able to gain access to a great deal of your personal information, but one has to admit that collecting the Pokémon Go characters is oddly satisfying. It is like collecting bottle tops in the 70s, stamps in the 80s, Pogs in the 90s, and Pokémon cards in the 00s. Seeing the Pokémon in real life (via your Smartphone screen) is also fun and is still the focus of many Facebook posts.
